Jesse Vasquez rents houses to traveling nurses
Jesse Vasquez left medical sales after meeting a travel nurse paying $3,000 for a motel. He tells Upflip 21 rentals now do about $2.1 million a year.

Jesse Vasquez spent about 20 years in medical sales and four-hour commutes. A travel nurse paying $3,000 a month for a rough motel room is the moment he cites for changing the job.
His parents' years as landlords had not looked fun. He tried anyway, with one rental aimed at traveling healthcare workers who needed a real place to sleep.
He says the portfolio is now 21 properties, 10 he owns and 11 he manages, serving nurses and also families placed through insurance housing after disasters. He puts the year at about $2.1 million.
One motel bill
On Upflip he walks through furnishing a place for someone who is in town for a contract, not a lifetime lease. The episode is about that niche more than about house flipping.
The yearly figure is his. The start was a conversation with a nurse and a motel rate that did not make sense.
