Janet Jackson's longtime stylist insists the infamous Super Bowl moment went exactly the way it was planned
Designer Wayne Scot Lukas says Janet Jackson's Super Bowl outfit did what it was built to do. He wants Justin Timberlake to tell the real story.

The man who designed Janet Jackson's Super Bowl look says it is time for Justin Timberlake to set the record straight.
Wayne Scot Lukas, Janet's fashion designer for years, spoke out in a new interview ahead of Timberlake's upcoming docuseries.
The 4-part series lands on Apple TV+ in December. The halftime show scandal is expected to be a big part of it.
Left out of the story
Lukas says nobody asked him to take part in the project. That stings since he was right in the middle of everything.
He also says Timberlake has never said sorry to him. According to Lukas the fallout did real damage to his career.
He takes issue with the famous phrase used to describe that night. In his view there was no malfunction at all because the outfit worked just as it was designed to.
A last-minute switch
Lukas says the reveal was first meant to show off Janet's backside. To back that up he brought along a G-string from the original plan.
He claims the team changed course only days before the show. They wanted a bigger moment so the plan shifted to her breast.
The broadcast was supposed to cut away right after the reveal with the screen going black. Lukas says that never happened and he blames the producers.
Janet's side
Janet has long held that the whole thing was an accident rather than a planned stunt. Lukas clearly remembers it another way.
He says he is not looking for an apology from Timberlake. He just believes the singer should share what really happened.
Fans will find out soon enough how Timberlake tells it.
