Ilhan Omar calls claims she married her brother insane during TV interview
Asked if her former husband is secretly her sibling, Rep. Ilhan Omar answered "Not to my knowledge" and called the long-running claims insane.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is pushing back on an accusation that has trailed her for years.
In a television interview with host Chris Hayes, the Minnesota Democrat was asked point blank whether Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the man she married in 2009, is really her sibling. Her reply: "Not to my knowledge."
She went on to label the claims "insane."
A rumor with no proof
The allegation holds that Omar wed her own brother to get around immigration rules. It has been repeated online for years. Still, nothing made public so far has shown that Elmi is related to her.
Raid and investigation
The interview came after federal agents searched Omar's home in Washington, D.C., on October 12 as part of a criminal probe.
According to reports, investigators want to know whether Omar or her relatives put false information on immigration forms going back decades.
The Justice Department says agents acted under a search warrant approved by a judge. President Donald Trump has said he had nothing to do with the raid.
Omar fires back
Omar denies doing anything wrong. She says the Trump administration is using the case to scare her as the midterm elections draw near.
