Halle Berry won one fight in court this week but lost a bigger one.

The judge in her custody war with ex Olivier Martinez dissolved the domestic violence restraining order she wanted gone. On custody, though, the ruling went Martinez's way.

For now, Maceo, who is 13, will mainly live with his dad.

What the judge decided

The two used to share custody. Halle's lawyers asked the court to go back to a 50/50 split. The judge said no.

The judge also ruled that Halle can no longer have Maceo stay overnight.

Martinez did not get everything he wanted. He asked to limit her time with Maceo over the holidays. That request was turned down.

Both sides claim something

His lawyer Patrick Baghdaserians called the custody decision a "huge victory." He said the judge weighed evidence on how each parent raises the boy.

Halle's rep pointed out that she still shares legal custody. She also holds the tiebreaker if the two parents cannot agree on big decisions.

The fight is not over. The judge plans to take another look at custody in November.

How it got here

The case turned ugly fast. Martinez accused Halle of choking Maceo. She firmly denied it.

Halle tried to keep her son off the stand. She claimed his father had coached him. In the end Maceo testified at a closed hearing with both parents ordered out of the room.

Earlier this week a post went up on Halle's Instagram. Her team said the account seemed to have been hacked. The post suggested kids who disrespect their mom often have issues with their father.

Martinez's side tried to reopen evidence over it. Judge Kaufman denied that request.
