The treats are sitting right there on the kitchen counter. Two Golden Retrievers wait their turn like perfect dinner guests. Then their owner starts handing out snacks that do not exist.

In a clip shared by Instagram account kaeetiee she first gives each dog a real piece. They take turns politely. Once the routine feels locked in she picks up nothing at all and offers the same little handoff.

Both pups accept the empty air and start chewing. One glances at the floor as if the missing snack might have bounced. The other keeps working an imaginary crunch without complaint.

Trust the routine

She keeps testing how far the bit can go. More invisible handoffs. More satisfied chewing. The dogs make it almost impossible for her to keep a straight face.

Golden Retrievers are famously eager to please and this pair proves it. The hand motion looks familiar. A treat usually arrives. There is no reason to suspect a kitchen prank until the floor check begins.

The video climbed toward three million views and hundreds of thousands of likes within a day of wider pickup on Thursday, Nov. 5. Commenters joked the dogs were still eating imaginary snacks and that one was waiting to schedule a performance review.

It is hard to blame them. Habit is powerful and so is trust. Their owner may have found a new rainy-day comedy bit. The dogs still look ready for round two as long as somebody eventually pays up in the real stuff.
