Erik von Detten goes shirtless on his roof to get a head start on Christmas
Former Disney star Erik von Detten hung Christmas lights shirtless at his LA-area home while an elder abuse lawsuit over gold sales hangs over him.

Erik von Detten is not letting a lawsuit get in the way of his holiday decorating.
The former Disney actor was seen at his house in the Los Angeles area climbing up onto the roof. He was hanging a strand of white Christmas lights in the afternoon sun.
He skipped the shirt for the job. All he had on were shorts, socks, sneakers and a cap.
A tense phone call
At one point Erik stopped to take a call. Judging by the frustrated look on his face it did not seem like a fun chat.
The lawsuit
Erik is being sued for elder abuse over his ties to Rosland Capital, a company that deals in precious metals.
Sheila and Norman Greenberg, who are 85 and 97, say the firm goes after seniors and charges them too much for gold. They say they phoned the company after watching a TV commercial and ended up talking with Erik.
The couple claims they paid $2 million for coins that turned out to be worth about $1.3 million.
Creditors chasing Rosland Capital have also accused Erik of slowing down their probe. In court papers the company recently admitted it owes those creditors $60 million.
For now it looks like Erik would rather focus on the Christmas spirit.
