Donald Trump Jr. got a loud welcome he probably did not want during a stop at Emory University in Atlanta.

Video from Wednesday shows hecklers yelling at the president's son as he left the law school. "The country has rebuked you!!!" one person shouted.

Don Jr. was on campus to back his business partner Omeed Malik. Malik is an Emory alum and the school was putting his name on a law school building. There was a ribbon-cutting to mark the occasion.

How it unfolded

Students reportedly had no idea ahead of time that Don Jr. would be there. He arrived with a Secret Service detail.

Don Jr. and Malik are good friends who also work together in venture capital. Sources say Don Jr. spent around four hours on campus with Malik.

Near the end of the visit the pair took part in a fireside chat with roughly 100 students. Four people stood up and began shouting about fascism. It is not clear if they were law students.

The protesters were walked out of the room but kept yelling once they were outside. The video starts as Don Jr. and Malik head out. Sources say both knew a camera was rolling.

A middle finger

Malik can be seen giving the protesters the finger. Sources say he wanted to show them they were being rude.

According to sources the day was going fine until news got around that Trump's son was on campus.

The timing was rough for the Trump family. Democrats had just taken back the House and the Senate in a midterm result widely seen as a rebuke of the president and his party.
