A little piece of Dolly Parton history in California's Santa Ynez Valley has a new owner.

The sale

The Solvang farmhouse the country icon once used as a getaway closed this month at $1,945,150. The deal landed just weeks after Parton died in late August.

The buyers have asked that their names stay private. Black Oak Group Homes agent Daniel Ferguson ran the listing and worked for the buyer as well.

Parton's decade in Solvang

Parton held onto the property from 2004 until 2014. The town calls itself the Danish capital of America.

The house dates to the 1920s and sits a short stroll from the village center. Parton treated it as a cozy hideaway before letting it go in 2014 for $940,000.

New owners along the way

The cottage changed hands again in 2022. It came back on the market this May before finding its latest buyer.
