Miley Cyrus believes her late godmother Dolly Parton sent a sign by flickering the lights
Miley Cyrus says the lights in her hallway started blinking after she begged her godmother Dolly Parton for a sign. She told the story at the Hollywood Bowl.

Miley Cyrus says Dolly Parton has found a way to reach her even after death.
A story from the stage
The singer opened up to fans at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night. She described a quiet moment at home that she believes was her godmother checking in on her.
Cyrus keeps a mannequin made to look like Parton in her bedroom. Dolly gave it to her as a Christmas present.
Candle, flower and a request
One night Cyrus pulled up a clip of Parton singing "Jolene" on her phone. She set a flower beside the mannequin and lit a candle.
Then she spoke softly to her godmother. She asked Parton to make the lights flicker if she was in the room.
According to Cyrus, the lights all along her hallway started to blink right after she asked.
A witness at home
Her fiance Maxx Morando saw the lights go too. Cyrus noted that he had no idea what she had just asked Parton to do.
She also told the audience that she senses Parton with her when she performs. She called that feeling a comfort.
Talking about the supernatural
Parton died of cancer in August. Cyrus has gotten emotional about her during several recent shows. This was the first time she talked about a sign from beyond.
A jab at her critics
Cyrus had some fun with fans who complained that she skipped lyrics at her first Hollywood Bowl show. Before one song she joked that she had forgotten she was required to sing every last line.
