Devin Haney and Liam Paro set welterweight unification bout for Dec. 19 in San Francisco
WBO champion Devin Haney will meet IBF champion Liam Paro in a welterweight unification bout Dec. 19 at Chase Center in San Francisco on DAZN.

Welterweight just got another unification date on the calendar.
WBO champion Devin Haney will face IBF champion Liam Paro on Dec. 19 at Chase Center in San Francisco, Top Rank Boxing announced Thursday. The bout airs on DAZN.
Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) returns for the first time since a decision win over Brian Norman Jr. that delivered the WBO belt. Talks with mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis and with Shakur Stevenson never came together earlier this year.
Haney wants another Australian belt at home
"My resume speaks for itself. I've never been afraid to go into a champion's backyard and put my record on the line," Haney said in a release. "I went to Australia, took George Kambosos' belts and became undisputed lightweight champion of the world. Now I'm bringing another Australian world champion, Liam Paro, into my backyard. This time, I plan to take his belt and become a unified welterweight world champion right here at home."
Paro (28-1, 16 KOs) won the IBF title in June with a decision over Lewis Crocker in Queensland. The Australian is 3-0 since moving up to welterweight in June 2025.
"I've never taken the easy road," Paro said. "I went to Puerto Rico and took the title off Matias in front of his own people. Devin's a great fighter and I respect that. But I've been the underdog plenty of times and I've made history before."
A busy 147-pound picture
The division has stayed hot. Teofimo Lopez beat Rolando Romero for the WBA title in August and Ryan Garcia defended the WBC belt with a second-round knockout of Conor Benn in September.
A Haney-Garcia rematch remains one of boxing's biggest available fights after Garcia's 2024 upset was later changed to a no-contest. Brian Norman Jr. meets Abel Ramos in the co-main event.
