Anyone who works from home with a dog knows the fear. You unmute for the big meeting and the dog picks that exact moment to announce the mail carrier. One Kentucky man decided to put his brand-new noise-canceling earpiece to the test. His dachshund Filbert had other ideas.

The test

Max Miller of Owensboro had just picked up an earpiece made to block background noise on work calls. To see if it really worked he asked Filbert to bark "soon." Filbert heard "right now."

The bark came out instantly. It was not a polite little woof either. It was a full-volume blast from a dog who had clearly been rehearsing his whole life for this role.

Did the mic catch that?

The best part is what came next. Miller kept a perfectly straight face and calmly asked whether the earpiece had picked up the bark. Could anyone hear it? Yes, Max. Everybody heard it.

His wife Diana shared the clip on TikTok with a caption that said it all. Noise cancellation has nothing on a dachshund.

A star is born

The video raced to nearly 5 million views in less than a day. The comments were pure comedy. "Didn't hear a thing, you're good to go," one viewer wrote. Another called it "the bark heard around the world." A third wondered if the microphone was inside Filbert's throat. Plenty of people admitted they had not laughed that hard in a long time.

Viewers also loved Miller's hopeful little smile, like he truly believed the gadget was going to win. Bless him.

Newlyweds with a loud plus one

Max and Diana Miller just got married, so Filbert's big moment doubles as a welcome-to-married-life gift. The lesson for everyone else working from home is simple. Test your gear all you want. The dog always gets the last word.
