Arizona's most dynamic player got a cleanup this offseason.

Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll had surgery this week to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. The team confirmed the procedure on Friday.

A full recovery is expected to take about eight weeks. That puts the 26-year-old on track for the start of spring training in February.

Playing through it

Carroll hit .239 with 22 home runs, 78 RBIs, 33 doubles and a league-high 17 triples this past season. He did it while battling several injuries.

He had hamate bone surgery that cost him much of spring training. He also dealt with back soreness over the final months of the season, which was part of why he struggled in the second half after a hot start.

Still a cornerstone

Carroll won National League Rookie of the Year in 2023 and helped lead Arizona to a surprise World Series run that fall. He is a three-time All-Star.

Earlier this month he won his first Gold Glove for his work in right field.
