Carrot Top goes to Sunday service with mom Dona Wood as his recovery continues
The comedian smiled outside a Las Vegas church Sunday with his mother Dona Wood by his side weeks after a hospitalization for a suicide attempt.

Carrot Top spent Sunday morning at church in Las Vegas with his mother Dona Wood close by. It was another quiet outing for the comedian as he works his way back from a frightening stretch last month.
Out with family
Wood has been a steady presence since her son left the hospital. She has been helping him with daily needs and driving him where he needs to go.
Video from outside the church shows the pair strolling side by side. The prop comic's trademark red curls were on full display along with a green plaid shirt and torn jeans.
His mother wore a pale pink top with brown pants and carried a black purse. A few other people walked along with the two of them.
At one point Carrot Top moved ahead of the group and broke into a grin.
A second Sunday in a row
This was not his first trip to services since the scare. He also turned up at church the previous Sunday in one of his earliest public sightings after leaving the hospital.
What happened in September
The longtime Las Vegas headliner was taken to the hospital last month after a suicide attempt. It later came out that he was believed to have overdosed on prescription medication.
In a recording of the emergency call a panicked caller said he was barely responsive and having trouble breathing by his pool. The caller kept urging him to "stay awake" while paramedics raced to the house.
Now his mom appears determined to give him extra support as he eases back into everyday life.
