Cade Cunningham did not even need the fourth quarter.
The Detroit Pistons star scored a season-high 33 points in three quarters Monday night as Detroit routed the Charlotte Hornets 124-91.
It was the Pistons' third straight win.
Cunningham did it all
Cunningham made 13 of his 20 shots. He also had seven assists plus five steals and five rebounds before sitting out the final period.
He beat Charlotte on drives in transition, 3-pointers and turnaround jumpers. He also found open teammates with crosscourt passes for easy baskets.
Duncan Robinson added 24 points on six 3-pointers.
The game got away early
Detroit led most of the night. The Pistons made 13 of their first 24 3-point tries and turned an 11-point halftime lead into a 98-75 cushion after three quarters.
Robinson and Kevin Huerter then hit 3-pointers on back-to-back trips early in the fourth. That pushed the lead to 29 and Hornets coach Charles Lee cleared his bench.
A quiet return for Coby White
Charlotte point guard Coby White finally made his season debut after missing the first seven games with a calf strain.
White scored seven points on 3-of-8 shooting in 16 minutes. Lee said before the game that White will stay on a minutes limit for now.
Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 17 points. Naz Reid added 13.
Lee also said guard Kon Knueppel is "right around the corner" from returning.
