Brandon Figueroa will step into the ring Saturday without the belt he came to defend.

Figueroa weighed 127.4 pounds at Friday's weigh-in then 126.8 on a second try. Both were over the 126-pound featherweight limit. He was stripped of the WBA title.

Kameda can still win it

Challenger Tomoki Kameda weighed 125.4 pounds and can still win the title Saturday. If Figueroa wins the belt becomes vacant. The camps are negotiating a penalty and the fight is expected to go on.

The card

The bout is the co-main event to Sebastian Fundora's WBC 154-pound title defense against Ermal Hadribeaj at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The card starts at 7 p.m. Central.

Their records

Figueroa (27-2-1 with 20 knockouts) won the title by 12th-round stoppage of Nick Ball on Feb. 7 in Liverpool. Kameda (42-5 with 23 knockouts) is 35 and from Osaka. He held the WBO bantamweight title from 2013 to 2015 and lost a majority decision to Angelo Leo in May 2025.
