Jaron "Boots" Ennis signs a seven-fight extension with Matchroom
The unbeaten WBA and WBO super welterweight champion is chasing an undisputed title with a Josh Kelly unification expected early in 2027.

Jaron "Boots" Ennis is staying with Matchroom.
The unbeaten Philadelphia fighter signed a multi-year, seven-fight contract extension with Eddie Hearn's promotion, the company announced Tuesday. The deal runs through the end of 2029 and is expected to be worth eight figures.
The news came a day after Shakur Stevenson parted ways with Zuffa Boxing.
Two wins from undisputed
Ennis, 29, is 36-0 with 32 knockouts. He holds the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles after unifying belts at 147 pounds against Eimantas Stanionis and moving up to 154.
His best win came in June, when he stopped Xander Zayas in a six-round firefight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Next up is expected to be IBF champion Josh Kelly in a three-belt unification planned for January or February 2027. Kelly also re-signed with Matchroom on Tuesday. Hearn wants the winner to face WBC champion Sebastian Fundora for all four belts later in 2027.
'Road to undisputed'
"I'm excited for my extended partnership with Matchroom," Ennis said. He said the two sides are aligned on one goal for him: becoming undisputed champion.
"The world is about to see why I'm different and why I'm the best fighter in the world!" he added. "Road to undisputed! Road to the number one pound-for-pound best fighter in the world!"
