Alanis Morissette dropped a personal revelation during a lighthearted podcast chat this week — she identifies as pansexual.

Morissette was a guest on the Nov. 3 episode of "Handsome." When one of the hosts wondered whether past heartbreak with men had ever pushed her toward dating women she answered plainly: "I'm pansexual, so, yeah."

Tig Notaro sounded stunned and asked, "Wait, you're not really pansexual, are you?" Morissette did not hesitate: "I am."

What the term means

People who are pansexual can feel attraction to others regardless of sex or gender identity.

The singer has been unusually candid lately. In September she sat down on "Call Her Daddy" with Alex Cooper to talk about postpartum depression.

Morissette shared then that the condition grew worse with each of her three pregnancies and described intrusive thoughts she called "harrowing."
