Wichita police free the driver in the deadly soccer field crash with no charges as the boy and man who died are named
Police let the driver go without charges. The crash killed Cole Adrian, 6, along with Nicholas Schafer, 35. Cole's father says his son lit up their town.

The woman whose pickup rolled through a youth soccer game in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday is no longer in custody. As of Sunday she had not been charged with any crime.
Why she was let go
Wichita police said the 34-year-old was released once detectives had questioned more than 30 witnesses and gone over the case with prosecutors. Among the people investigators spoke with were the two children who had been riding in her truck. The driver herself was interviewed after those witness talks.
Police made clear the investigation is still open. Detectives are waiting on toxicology results along with a mechanical inspection of the Chevrolet pickup as they try to learn what caused the crash at the Stryker Sports Complex.
The two people who died
Police released the names of the two victims. Cole Adrian was 6 years old. Nicholas Schafer was 35. Both lived in McPherson, Kansas. The two were not related to each other. Both died at the scene.
Ten more people were hurt. Five of them are children: two 5-year-olds, two boys who are 8 and a girl who is 9. The five injured adults range in age from 28 to 68. Police said none of those injuries is critical. A 61-year-old woman was also taken to a hospital for a medical problem that police said was not caused by the crash.
A father's words about his son
Cole's father, Chris Adrian, sent a text message to the New York Times on Sunday about the boy. He said the family is crushed. He described Cole as a remarkable child who could make anybody grin.
Chris said his son was "the joy and light of our community." He remembered Cole as a kid with a big open heart and a wonderful laugh who made friends with people of every age.
A relative of Nicholas Schafer told the paper his family was not ready to talk to reporters.
How it happened
The driver had parked close to the fields Saturday afternoon. Without warning, her truck moved onto the grass and struck both kids and grown-ups. Two of her own children were inside the pickup at the time. A third child of hers was playing in a game on another field at the complex.
A city in shock
Joe Sullivan, the city's police chief, said the loss was beyond what anyone could imagine. He said a relaxed afternoon of youth games and family time turned into heartbreak.
Kansas Youth Soccer put out a statement calling the crash devastating. Wichita has shut down all activities at the sports complex for now, with no date set to resume. Officials are asking anyone who took photos or video that day to send them to investigators.
Police say the driver was given a drug test. Investigators are still working to pin down exactly what went wrong.
