The Golden State Warriors closed Tuesday night with a second-half surge and beat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-89 in an NBA preseason game at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Second-half flip

The clubs were tied 29-29 after the first quarter and the Lakers led 63-50 at halftime. Golden State then outscored Los Angeles 22-13 in the third and 29-13 in the fourth to wipe out the deficit.

Austin Reaves led all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting and added seven assists. Yaxel Lendeborg paced the Warriors with 17 points and four assists. Charles Bassey grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots while De'Anthony Melton finished with six steals.

Turnovers and pace

Los Angeles committed 29 turnovers to Golden State's 20 and managed only 26 points after halftime. The Lakers still edged the Warriors on the glass 45-40 and scored more points in the paint but could not stop the late run.

Walker Kessler had nine rebounds for Los Angeles. Bronny James was credited with a steal in limited action as both benches saw heavy minutes.

Preseason slate

Both Pacific Division teams continue exhibition play this week before the regular season opens later in October. The night in Las Vegas gave Golden State a road-style test and gave Los Angeles a hard look at second-half execution.
