Walter Koenig finds his final resting place at the same Los Angeles cemetery as the son he lost in 2010
Star Trek actor Walter Koenig was cremated October 30 with Hollywood Forever listed as his final resting place, where his son Andrew was buried in 2010.

Walter Koenig will rest at the very cemetery where his son was buried 16 years ago.
The Star Trek icon's death certificate shows he was cremated on October 30. The paperwork lists Hollywood Forever in LA as where his remains were placed.
His son Andrew Koenig was laid to rest there too. Andrew died by suicide in 2010 when he was 41.
What the certificate says
The document lists cardiopulmonary arrest as the immediate cause of Walter's death. Chronic diastolic congestive heart failure is noted as the underlying cause.
Acute kidney failure is also listed as a major condition that played a part.
Walter passed away on October 25 at his home in the Los Angeles area. His daughter and niece were with him.
A Starfleet legend
Fans knew him best as Pavel Chekov from the original series. He played the role in 36 episodes and went on to bring the character back in the movies.
His big-screen run with the crew began with the first Star Trek film and carried on through The Wrath of Khan. Over the decades he also turned up in Babylon 5, Columbo and Futurama.
He never stopped working. In 2026 his work in the short Mr. Fleischmann earned him an honor from the Independent Shorts Awards.
Just three days after his death the franchise lost another giant when Patrick Stewart died on October 28 at 86.
Walter's wife, Judy Koenig, died in 2022.
