The viral 'arguing Pacers couple' returned to Brooklyn and this time the game cam caught a kiss
Michael and Grace went viral in April for a heated courtside debate. Back in Brooklyn for the Pacers and Nets, she fake-napped and then kissed him.

Basketball's most famous courtside debate team is back and the sequel has a much happier ending. Michael and Grace, the Indiana Pacers fans who became an internet sensation last spring for what looked like a full-blown argument in the stands, turned up at Barclays Center again on Sunday night when the Pacers visited the Brooklyn Nets.
Cameras spotted them in the stands. Michael was talking again, of course. Grace played along by pretending to doze off mid-sentence, letting her head drop like a student in a long lecture. He nudged her awake. She answered with a kiss on his cheek. Fans who remembered the first clip could not get enough of the plot twist.
Where the legend started
Back in April, during another Pacers win in the same building, a Pacers writer caught the two locked in what looked like a serious standoff. Michael was explaining something with both hands. Grace was squinting, shaking her head and glancing around the arena before firing back with a line too salty to print here. The clip spread everywhere within hours.
The real story turned out to be pretty nerdy. Grace later said on X that spirited back-and-forth is simply how the two of them show love. The topic that night? Whether a liberal arts education is worth it, a debate they picked up from a New York Times podcast featuring former University of Florida president Ben Sasse.
Shaq offered to buy the ring
The fame landed them a seat on Inside the NBA, where Shaquille O'Neal asked Michael on live TV whether he planned to propose and promised to pay for the ring if he did it right then. Michael countered that he would, as long as the whole crew agreed to come to the wedding. Nobody on the desk signed up. Grace jumped in to point out that she had not agreed to any of it either. She later teased Shaq for acting like an embarrassing uncle at a family party.
A blowout and a happy ending
The basketball on Sunday went about the same way it did in April. Indiana rolled to a 27-point win behind 24 points from Tyrese Haliburton. No proposal this time and no wedding date. But after half a year of being known as the couple who argued at a Pacers game, Michael and Grace have a fresh highlight that ends with a smile.
