Tyler Perry closes on a $30 million Puerto Rico estate and plans to film on the island
Tyler Perry reportedly paid $30 million for a 14,475-square-foot home in Puerto Rico and plans to open a production office there. His Atlanta studios stay open.

Madea fans may soon spot some Puerto Rico scenery. Tyler Perry has bought a huge home on the island and reportedly wants to make some of his projects there.
The price and the property
Sources say the filmmaker just finished buying a $30 million house. It covers 14,475 square feet on close to 1.4 acres.
Built in 2021, the residence sits inside a gated community. It has five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Inside are a home theater, a gym and a kitchen with an open layout. There is also a pool.
Work comes along
The new place should give Perry a spot to relax after long days. He does not plan to stop working while he is in the Caribbean, though. According to sources, he will set up a production office and shoot shows on the island.
His studios in Atlanta will keep operating as usual.
A popular landing spot for stars
Perry joins a list of famous names who have headed to Puerto Rico in recent years. Brothers Logan Paul and Jake Paul both live there now. Vacationers on the island have included Paul Rudd as well as Mariska Hargitay.
Puerto Rico does not have many soundstages. With a house this size, Perry may not need one.
