Stevie Wonder's ex asks a judge to make him fix the house she still occupies
Carmen Efferson denied Stevie Wonder's eviction claims and asked the court to order repairs to the Los Angeles home where she has lived for decades.

Carmen Efferson has answered Stevie Wonder's effort to remove her from a Los Angeles house by denying his claims and painting him as a landlord who let the place fall apart.
Her Tuesday court filing rejects every allegation in his earlier papers and asks the judge not to order her out of the home.
She also wants the court to force Wonder to repair problems she says he has ignored for years.
Problems she lists
Efferson describes damp or leaking ceilings and walls holes in walls floors or carpet falling plaster or peeling paint and defective or leaking plumbing among other defects. She wants those fixed quickly.
How the fight started
Wonder is suing to remove her from the property where she has lived since July 1988 under a verbal deal with no written lease and monthly rent of $0. He says that arrangement is over.
He also says he sent people for an insurance inspection and that she refused to let anyone inside. A source close to Efferson says the lawsuit blindsided her and that she has told friends Wonder promised her the home.
