Rams make a kicking change after their overtime loss to Buffalo, bringing in Blake Grupe
Los Angeles is moving on from kicker Harrison Mevis after two missed field goals in Monday's overtime loss to Buffalo and is signing Blake Grupe.

The Los Angeles Rams are changing kickers one day after a special teams meltdown cost them a wild game against the Buffalo Bills.
The team is releasing Harrison Mevis and signing Blake Grupe off the New York Jets' practice squad, according to reports on Tuesday.
Two misses that hurt
Mevis made all four of his extra points in Monday night's 37-34 overtime loss but missed both of his field goal tries. The first was a 50-yarder in the first quarter. The second was a 48-yard try in overtime that would have won the game. Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau got a hand on it.
Buffalo then drove for the winning field goal. The loss dropped the Rams to 2-3 and spoiled a big night for Matthew Stafford, who became the first quarterback to throw 150 touchdown passes for two different teams.
"The kicking game, especially with our PAT, field goal, not even close to good enough," coach Sean McVay said after the game. "It cost us the game tonight."
From strong to shaky
Mevis was reliable last season. He made 12 of 13 field goals and all 39 of his extra points in nine games. This year he made just 5 of 9 field goals, the lowest rate in the league.
Who is Blake Grupe
Grupe is one of the smallest players in the NFL at 5-foot-7 and 156 pounds. He went undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2023 and has kicked for the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.
Over 50 career games he has made about 82% of his field goals, with a long of 60 yards. The Jets claimed him off waivers in August and kept him on the practice squad this season.
