Patriots activate A.J. Brown from injured reserve for Sunday's game against the Jets
A.J. Brown missed four games with a high ankle sprain and is set to return Sunday as the Patriots host the Jets, giving Drake Maye a premium target.

A.J. Brown is back for the Patriots.
New England activated the star receiver from injured reserve on Saturday and he is set to play Sunday against the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium. Brown sat out the last four games because of a high ankle sprain in his right leg.
Hurt in the opener
Brown got hurt shortly after halftime of the season opener in his first game with the Patriots. He got back on the practice field for the first time Wednesday and was limited all week according to the team's injury report.
Brown said coach Mike Vrabel would decide when he plays and that the focus was on the long haul rather than a quick fix.
More room for Maye
The move gives quarterback Drake Maye a premium target again. Maye said this week that it works like basketball: when a defense doubles the best player someone else ends up open for an easy basket. He said the Patriots already have several players who have been making plays so defenses face a tough task.
What comes next
The roster had room for him without a corresponding cut. Brown will likely be eased back in before he takes on his usual heavy workload. Romeo Doubs, Pop Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams are the other receivers on the roster.
New England is 3-2 and the Jets are 2-3. After Sunday the Patriots visit the Chicago Bears on Thursday.
