The 2026 MLB postseason opened with three quick sweeps and one series that went the distance.

Yankees over Red Sox

New York rolled past its oldest rival with lopsided wins of 9-0 and 9-2.

White Sox over Astros

Chicago won 6-3 and 7-3 to knock out Houston in two games.

Padres over Cubs

San Diego's pitching took over. The Padres won 8-0 and 4-1.

Braves over Phillies

Atlanta won the opener 5-3 and lost Game 2 4-3 in 10 innings. The Braves then took the deciding game 6-2.

The division series started that weekend with the top two seeds in each league waiting.
