Miami is No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2002 as BYU climbs to No. 2
After five of the top seven teams lost on Saturday, the Hurricanes took over the top spot and BYU reached its highest ranking since its 1984 title season.

The wildest Saturday of the college football season produced a new No. 1.
Miami sits atop the AP Top 25 for the first time since Dec. 8, 2002. The Hurricanes (6-0) received 40 first-place votes and 1,697 points in Sunday's poll.
BYU (6-0) jumped six spots to No. 2 with 20 first-place votes. It is the Cougars' highest ranking since 1984, the year they won the national championship.
A historic shake-up
For the first time in poll history, five of the top seven teams lost on the same Saturday. Then-No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Alabama and No. 7 Texas all went down. Not a single team held its spot in the new poll.
Miami needed two overtimes to beat Florida State 43-35. Darian Mensah threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns. Malachi Toney caught 11 passes for 154 yards and two scores.
BYU beat Notre Dame 28-24 in the first AP top-10 matchup ever played in Provo, Utah.
The rest of the top 10
Ohio State moved up one spot to No. 3 and got nine first-place votes after a 19-15 win at Indiana that ended the Hoosiers' 22-game home winning streak. The win came at a cost. Quarterback Julian Sayin is expected to miss several weeks with an injury to his throwing arm.
Notre Dame slid to No. 4. Georgia fell four spots to No. 5 after a 27-24 loss to Auburn on a last-second field goal in Athens. Indiana is No. 6.
Ole Miss is No. 7. Texas Tech is No. 8 and got the other first-place vote. UCLA and Utah, both 6-0, round out the top 10.
Big drops and new names
Tennessee climbed three spots to No. 11 after beating Alabama. The Crimson Tide dropped from No. 6 to No. 13.
Texas took the biggest fall. The Longhorns slid from No. 7 to No. 19 after losing at home to Florida. Missouri fell from No. 13 to No. 22 after a loss at Ole Miss.
Florida entered the poll at No. 20 and Arizona came in at No. 25. Mississippi State and Oklahoma State dropped out.
