Logan Cooley completes a hometown hat trick with one second left as the Mammoth stun the Penguins in overtime
Pittsburgh native Logan Cooley tied the game with one second left to finish a hat trick and Mikhail Sergachev won it in overtime as Utah beat the Penguins 4-3.

Logan Cooley picked the perfect place for the best finish of his young career. The Pittsburgh native completed a hat trick with one second left in regulation and the Utah Mammoth stunned the Penguins 4-3 in overtime on Thursday night.
Pittsburgh thought it had the game won when Ben Kindel scored with 25 seconds left to make it 3-2. Cooley answered by batting the puck in from the left side of the net with a second on the clock.
Mikhail Sergachev then ended it 3:27 into overtime when he beat goalie Arturs Silovs on a rebound in front.
A full-circle night
Cooley grew up in Pittsburgh. At age 5 he was part of Sidney Crosby's first Little Penguins Learn to Play Hockey program. He became just the third Pittsburgh native to score a hat trick against the Penguins.
He had never scored against Pittsburgh in six earlier games. This time he struck twice in the first period to give Utah a 2-0 lead before adding the late equalizer for the third hat trick of his career.
Cooley now has six goals in his past four games and seven on the season.
A rare finish
It was only the 10th game in NHL history, playoffs included, in which the teams traded a go-ahead goal and a tying goal in the final 30 seconds of regulation. The last one came in April 2015.
Sebastian Cossa made 31 saves for Utah. Rickard Rakell scored a short-handed goal and Erik Karlsson also scored for Pittsburgh. Silovs stopped 30 shots.
The Mammoth have won three of their past five games. They are 5-0-0 after a loss this season and 8-0-0 when leading after two periods.
