Lions coach Dan Campbell says Jack Campbell is improving after his scary neck injury
Lions All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell is improving in the hospital after being carted off with a neck injury against the Vikings, Dan Campbell said.

There is more good news on Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell.
Coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday the All-Pro is improving after the neck injury that sent him to the hospital Sunday.
"It's not easy because he's always going to be on our minds over here," the coach said in a radio interview. "The good news is he is improving."
A frightening moment
Campbell, 26, was hurt making a tackle on Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson early in the fourth quarter of Detroit's 19-15 win.
He lay face down on the turf and did not move. Medical staff strapped him to a backboard and he was carted off to applause.
Teammates and coaches surrounded the cart. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was in tears as play was stopped.
Campbell was alert and breathing when he left for a local hospital.
"Your prayers are working"
The Lions said Monday that Campbell was resting and recovering and that preliminary indications were positive. They have not shared a diagnosis.
Dan Campbell visited him in the hospital Sunday night. He said he saw his parents and talked to his wife.
"It's positive," he said Monday. "Your prayers are working. Please continue to do that."
Keeping the team informed
The coach said he has kept the team captains updated so they can share the news with the rest of the locker room.
"Knowing he's doing better ... I think that helps everybody just get a better handle on all this," he said.
He added that the team will keep praying for Campbell and his family. "And it's working, like I said. Because he's improving."
A rising star
Detroit drafted Campbell 18th overall in 2023 out of Iowa. He had not missed a game in his career before Sunday.
He broke out last season with 176 tackles and five sacks. He made first-team All-Pro and his first Pro Bowl.
In May he signed a four-year, $81 million extension that runs through 2030.
The Lions host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
