Brooklyn Knicks fans name their baby boy Knickson Fyve after the championship chant
Vance and Yvonne Bradford heard "Knicks in five!" through their windows the night New York won the title. Days later they had a name for their son.

When the New York Knicks won their first championship in more than half a century in June, plenty of people joked about how many babies would soon be named Jalen. One Brooklyn couple went even bigger.
Vance and Yvonne Bradford, lifelong Knicks fans who were expecting a child that summer, named their son Knickson Fyve. The name is pronounced like "Nixon."
The idea came from the streets of New York. After the Knicks closed out the Finals in Game 5, the couple opened their windows and heard the city celebrating. "We heard the chants: 'Knicks in five! Knicks in five!' And that kind of sat with us," Vance Bradford said.
Going all in
The couple already had a boy name and a girl name picked out. The morning after the title, Yvonne asked her husband, "What about the name Knickson?"
At first the plan was to pair Knickson with a more traditional middle name. Then Yvonne asked why they would stop there. "Two days later my wife was like, 'Let's go full force with this. Let's call him Knickson Fyve,'" Vance said.
He took a split second to make sure she was serious. Then he agreed right away "so she can't take it back." She never did.
A city changed
Both parents are Brooklyn natives. Vance grew up in Bed-Stuy and Yvonne in Crown Heights. Vance said the title meant far more than a parade. "It seriously changed the behavior of the city in the most positive way," he said.
Jalen Brunson scored 45 points in the clinching game. One report found 32 babies were named Jalen in New York City between March and early October, more than double the 15 from the same stretch a year earlier.
Vance said he fully expects Knickson to one day share a classroom with a few Jalens. He would not be surprised if other families picked the same chant for a name. "I expect it," he said.
