LeBron James has a Finals MVP pick and it is not the guy who won it.

Talking about the champion Knicks on his podcast with Steve Nash, the 76ers star said OG Anunoby was New York's most valuable player in the NBA Finals even though Jalen Brunson took home the award.

"OG was I think was the MVP of the team in the Finals," James said. "Obviously, Brunson became the MVP, but it's the small things. The chase-down block on De'Aaron Fox, the tip for the game. He was consistent."

"Obviously, we know Jalen Brunson was the head of the snake, but I think OG was just like, he was the most steady person for that team," he added.

The numbers

Brunson averaged 32.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and two steals in five Finals games. Anunoby put up 21.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks a game. The title was New York's first in 53 years.

James will get a close look at both of them soon. The 76ers open the season at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Oct. 20, the same night the Knicks raise their championship banner.

A car for a cause

James also has a ride headed to auction. He designed two custom Mercedes-Maybach S 680 sedans and one of them will be sold Nov. 20 and 21 at the Javits Center in New York. Mercedes donated the car to the LeBron James Family Foundation, which will get the money from the sale. James is keeping the "sister" car for himself.

The sedan has a 621-horsepower V-12, a light ivory paint job and a "stormy weather blue" leather interior. His crown logo shows up on the fenders, headrests, dashboard and floorboards. The center console carries the map coordinates of Akron, Ohio.

"The chance to design my own customized Mercedes-Maybach was something I never even dreamed of as a young kid growing up in Akron," James said.

The money will support the foundation's I PROMISE program for students and families in his hometown. James, 41, is getting ready for his 24th NBA season and his first in Philadelphia.
