Jaylen Brown drops a season-high 30 and blocks Cade Cunningham late as the 76ers win in Detroit
Jaylen Brown scored a season-high 30 points and swatted Cade Cunningham's late 3 as the 8-1 Sixers held off the Pistons. LeBron James hit a career milestone.

Jaylen Brown picked the right night to have his best scoring game in a Sixers uniform.
Brown poured in a season-high 30 points Wednesday and made the defensive play of the night in the final minute as the Philadelphia 76ers held off the Detroit Pistons 112-106.
Philadelphia led by 17 before Detroit charged back. With the Pistons down six and 37 seconds left, Cade Cunningham pulled up for a 3 that would have made it a one-possession game. Brown got a hand on it and blocked the shot to seal the win.
Sixers keep rolling
The win pushed Philadelphia to 8-1, the best record in the Eastern Conference. The only loss came at home against these same Pistons.
Joel Embiid added 26 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
The Sixers won even with Tyrese Maxey off his game. Maxey was held to a season-low 19 points on 5-of-16 shooting after scoring at least 26 in every other game this season.
LeBron makes more history
James added another line to his record book early in the second quarter. His left-handed runner made the 41-year-old the first player in NBA history to make 16,000 field goals.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, second on the league's all-time scoring list, made 15,837 in his career.
James also flashed his passing with a no-look feed and a left-handed throw to Adem Bona that set up a three-point play.
Tempers flare
Embiid was hit with a technical foul late in the first half after a review showed he started a pushing match with Pistons center Tolu Smith.
Cunningham finished with 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Duncan Robinson scored 27 for Detroit, which is 6-2 and still leads the Central Division.
The Sixers play at Cleveland on Friday. The Pistons host the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
