Jaylen Brown says his favorite splurge is a gold harp and a harpist who plays at sunset
Forget cars and jewelry. New 76ers star Jaylen Brown says his best buy is a gold harp plus a musician who plays it twice a week while his chef cooks dinner.

Some NBA stars buy cars. Some buy jewelry. Jaylen Brown bought a harp.
Gold strings upstairs
In a long sit-down with rapper Lil Baby looking back on his first 10 years in the league, the new Philadelphia 76ers star was asked about his favorite purchase. He did not have to think long.
"My favorite purchase, I think my best, my most favorite purchase for me, was I bought a harp. I bought like a gold harp," Brown said. "I got it upstairs."
A dinner soundtrack
Brown does not play it himself. He has a harpist come over about twice a week while the sun goes down and his chef works in the kitchen. "You know what I mean?" he added with a grin.
Clips of the answer spread fast over the weekend. Fans could not decide whether it was the most relaxing flex they had ever heard or the most unexpected one. Plenty of people said they wanted the exact same evening at home. A few joked that they finally know what to ask for when their first big check arrives.
From a college budget to harp nights
The answer stands out because Brown has talked before about how little his life changed when he first got to the league. The No. 3 pick in the 2016 draft has said he lived like a college student for his first few seasons in Boston.
Now he gets live music with dinner. Brown makes his 76ers debut alongside LeBron James on Tuesday night in New York. His new teammates may want to angle for a dinner invite.
