An Indiana woman seeking local office has become an internet sensation after a fiery turn at a candidates' event. Jaime West, a Democrat, unloaded on Republicans and then closed with a line that has people talking.

West is running for the District 4 seat on the Fayette County Council. At a general election forum for candidates she was asked to name a policy that would help the county even if voters might not like it.

After a pause she said she would fire every MAGA Republican. She called them racist and dumb and said she simply does not enjoy being around them.

In a meandering answer West blamed the right for the state's problems. She also said people on the right have threatened her again and again.

Asked for any final words, West looked straight into the camera with wide eyes. "We have guns too," she said.
