Fresno contractor seen on HGTV dies while hiking Mount Whitney
Kalem Peter Kazarian, 52, who appeared on "Go Big or Go Home," died in the Sequoia National Park area. A cause of death has not been released.

A Fresno contractor who once appeared on HGTV has died while hiking one of California's toughest peaks.
Kalem Peter Kazarian died earlier this week and local reports say he was climbing Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States at 14,505 feet. The Tulare County Coroner's Office had not released a cause of death, according to reports.
An experienced climber
Kazarian appeared to be an avid hiker. He had recently posted a photo from the summit of White Mountain, another of California's 14,000-foot peaks.
Mount Whitney requires a permit to climb and deaths on the mountain are not unusual. Early fall is considered one of the best times to attempt the summit.
Kazarian appeared in a 2019 episode of HGTV's "Go Big or Go Home." He was 52.
