Gabby Thomas watched rain wreck her Cabo reception and still called it the best day of her life
Olympic sprinter Gabby Thomas married Spencer McManes in Cabo. A storm trashed the outdoor reception minutes before showtime but a rainbow stole the ceremony.

Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas planned a beachside wedding in Cabo San Lucas. What she got was a full-day rain storm a wrecked outdoor reception and a rainbow that arrived right on cue.
Thomas married Spencer McManes on Oct. 30 after dating since 2022. A week later she posted the messy parts alongside the magic and refused to treat the weather as the headline of the day.
In a Nov. 5 reel she showed white linen tables with black and gold place settings getting hammered by rain minutes before guests were supposed to sit. Her caption put it plainly. The entire reception had been destroyed.
Rain clears for vows
The ceremony still found its window. Thomas told interviewers it had been raining all day until the aisle moment. The sky opened as she reached the altar with her parents and a bright rainbow settled behind the beach setup.
Her grandfather officiated on the sand. She wore a corseted white lace gown and described the walk as grateful excited and completely anchored. Friends and family watched the pair exchange vows while the storm waited just offstage.
Best day anyway
Instead of mourning the ruined tables the newlyweds moved the party indoors and danced all night. Thomas said perfection stopped mattering once she focused on being present with her people and her best friend turned husband.
She later summed up the weekend in one line about the most beautiful day with the love of her life. Rain may be good luck in wedding lore. For Thomas the luck was simpler. Everybody kept smiling through the storm.
