Elon Musk personally ordered the Starlink slowdown that crippled Ukrainian drones according to a report
A report says Elon Musk ordered last week's Starlink limits that left some Ukrainian drones almost useless. The Pentagon says it gave no order.

Elon Musk reportedly put the brakes on the satellite internet service Ukraine's military relies on. The move left the country's defenses scrambling and caught the Trump administration by surprise.
What the report says
A report says Musk ordered limits on Starlink last week. The throttled service reportedly crawled so badly that some of Ukraine's drones could barely be used.
The decision came as Musk and President Donald Trump grew increasingly frustrated with Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil refineries. Trump blames those attacks for driving up energy prices.
Who knew what
It is not clear whether Trump was told about the move in advance. According to the report, Musk talked with Trump about the slowdown. The president says he does not know who gave the order.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that the limits could cost Ukrainians their lives. His government wants an explanation.
Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, says no order for the limits came from his department. That still leaves open the question of who signed off on the change.
