The Philadelphia Eagles are changing quarterbacks again.

Joe Milton will start Sunday against the New York Giants, according to league sources. He replaces Tanner McKee, who started the past three games.

Milton will be the third different Eagles starter this season.

A quick change of plans

The move is a public reversal. Coach Nick Sirianni said Monday that the team was sticking with McKee.

McKee has completed 63.2% of his passes for 638 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in his three starts.

Philadelphia is 2-6 and has lost six games in a row. The Eagles sit last in the NFC East.

Life without Hurts

The Eagles signed Milton off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad on Oct. 16. The next day they placed Jalen Hurts on injured reserve.

Doctors later found multiple blood clots in both of Hurts' lungs. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Milton's road

New England took Milton in the sixth round of the 2024 draft. He was traded to Dallas in April 2025 and spent last season as Dak Prescott's backup, playing in four games.

The Cowboys waived him this summer after he lost the backup job to Sam Howell. They brought him back to the practice squad a few days later.
