Brooklyn man charged after slur-filled tirade on Atlanta-bound plane at JFK
Jerome Anixter, 60, was hauled off a Delta jet bound for Atlanta after a tirade that included a racial slur and now faces assault and resisting arrest charges.

A 60-year-old man from Brooklyn is facing criminal charges after police escorted him off a Delta plane at JFK International Airport in New York while he hurled a racial slur.
Law enforcement sources identified the man as Jerome Anixter. Police took him into custody. He now faces four counts: assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration.
Port Authority Police were called to the gate on Thursday after the airline flagged a disruptive passenger who seemed to be intoxicated. The jet was getting ready to leave for Atlanta at the time.
What the video shows
Footage making the rounds on X captures officers walking the man down the aisle and off the aircraft. On the way out, the man is heard saying the n-word.
Before police arrived, he allegedly shouted "death to America" and acted as if he were shooting at other people on board.
The airline responds
A Delta spokesperson said the carrier "has zero tolerance for disruptive behavior" and thanked officers for helping to remove "this unruly customer." The airline also apologized to everyone on board for the ordeal and the hold-up.
A late departure
The plane had 160 passengers and six crew members aboard when the scene played out. It finally pushed back from JFK roughly 45 minutes late.
What set off the outburst remains unknown.
