Georgia mom charged in son's hot car death can take her kids trick-or-treating
A Gwinnett County judge will let Deja Coleman, who is on house arrest in her baby's hot car death, take her other kids trick-or-treating at her complex.

This Halloween a Georgia mom charged in her baby boy's hot car death gets to walk door to door with her other kids.
A Gwinnett County judge made the call Thursday for Deja Coleman. She is living under house arrest at Rainbow Village, a community for families dealing with homelessness.
Halloween with limits
Coleman wears a GPS monitor. According to reports, she can take her kids from door to door but she is not allowed to leave the complex.
The charges
She is charged with second-degree murder plus second-degree cruelty to children. Police say she forgot to take her 1-year-old son, Daniel, into daycare before heading to her job at a hospital.
Lawrenceville police say Coleman did drop her older children at the daycare. The baby stayed behind in the car.
A long day in the heat
Coleman then drove to the hospital, parked and began her shift at about 7 a.m. Police say she did not know her son was still in the back seat.
Around 3:50 p.m. a hospital worker noticed Daniel slumped in his car seat. Officers who were off duty smashed the car window to reach him. The little boy had already died.
Investigators say the temperature inside the car was still 117 degrees an hour later.
Police describe a devastated mother
A police captain said Coleman was devastated when she found out what had happened. Detectives think stress had overwhelmed her that morning. They do not believe she was simply distracted.
