Journey halts Tulsa concert as drummer Deen Castronovo is taken to a hospital
The drummer fell ill two songs into the set. His drum tech finished the night and bandmates asked fans to pray for him.

Journey had to stop its show in Oklahoma on Thursday night when drummer Deen Castronovo became ill on stage. He was rushed to a hospital.
Two songs in
Castronovo got sick just two songs into the set at Tulsa's BOK Center, a stop on the band's 2026 "Final Frontier" tour. The concert came to a halt.
After he left the stage, keyboard player Jonathan Cain stepped up to the mic. He told fans Castronovo was having a medical emergency. In video shared online, Cain called it an "unfortunate situation," apologized for the delay and asked the crowd to pray for the drummer.
The show goes on
A few minutes later guitarist Neal Schon returned to say Castronovo had been taken to a hospital. Schon announced that drum tech Steve Toomey would play the rest of the set.
The band came back out. Singer Arnel Pineda also asked for prayers before Journey picked the show back up.
Schon told the audience at one point that Castronovo would be "fine." The rest of the concert went off without another problem.
