Cornell 7 defense says Jane Doe's lawyer coordinated with campus paper before the suit
Diego Sarabia's lawyers say Thomas Giuffra never denied talking to The Cornell Daily Sun before filing. They also reject his claim that the defense is leaking.

Defense lawyers in the Cornell 7 civil case are flipping the media narrative back at Jane Doe's attorney.
Fresh papers from Diego Sarabia's counsel say Thomas Giuffra has not denied talking with The Cornell Daily Sun ahead of the suit that accused seven students of gang rape.
What Sarabia's team argues
James Knox and Alishah Bhimani say Giuffra's claim that defense counsel has been leaking helpful documents to reporters does not hold up. They also attack his focus on Mark Geragos and Teny Geragos.
Giuffra had suggested the Geragos family helped steer press coverage in ways similar to the Sean Combs cases. Sarabia's lawyers call that speculation. They note he mentioned Combs many times in his papers and say he offered no proof.
The email fight
Attached to the papers is a message they attribute to Teny Geragos. She calls his misconduct claims false and "outrageous" and says she will seek relief unless he walks them back by Friday.
Teny Geragos denies leaking in any case. Giuffra had not responded publicly in the reports reviewed for this story.
These are competing claims in civil filings. No criminal verdict has been reached in the underlying case.
