Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki will miss 2 to 4 weeks with an upper-body injury, ending his 546-game iron man streak
Montreal's captain had never missed a game in more than seven NHL seasons. A shot hit his left hand in Tuesday's overtime loss to the Sharks.

The Montreal Canadiens will be without their captain for a while. The team announced Thursday that Nick Suzuki is out two to four weeks with an upper-body injury.
Montreal did not say what the injury is, but a shot struck Suzuki's left hand during Tuesday's overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks.
The missed games will be the first of Suzuki's career, which is now in its eighth NHL season.
An iron man streak ends
Suzuki had played in 546 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the league behind Brent Burns at 1,017. It ranked as the 20th-longest run of all time.
He has been more than durable. Suzuki is one of the league's best two-way centers and has raised his scoring total in each of the past five seasons, topping out at a career-high 101 points last season.
What comes next
The Canadiens did not give a firmer timeline for his return. Montreal will have to replace its top center and captain for at least the next couple of weeks.
