Brewers apologize to 'Timeless Ticket' holders upset with their World Series seats
Fans who paid $1,000 in 2015 for a ticket to any future game were offered upper-deck seats for the World Series. The team says it erred.

A promise the Milwaukee Brewers made to fans more than a decade ago finally came due this week. It did not go smoothly.
In 2015 the Brewers sold a "Timeless Ticket" for $1,000. It let the buyer redeem it for admission to any future game. Now that Milwaukee is in the World Series for the first time since 1982, several hundred holders asked to use theirs.
Seats far from what fans expected
The original offer said the tickets could be redeemed for the best available seats, subject to what was left at the time. Holders could also buy three more tickets to the same game at full price.
Danny Fochesato of Milwaukee bought his Timeless Ticket on his 27th birthday with the World Series in mind. He said the team's request form only offered 400-level or standing-room options. Fans also could not pick which game they would get.
"I immediately was like, 'No, that's bogus,'" Fochesato said.
He eventually bargained his way to three 400-level seats for Game 2 on Saturday plus one lower-level seat in the right-field corner for Game 1 on Friday. He said he later saw better seats on sale to the public.
The team owns the mistake
Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said Tuesday the team "erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests."
"Clearly, even with extraordinary limitations on available seats, we did not live up to the spirit of the program," he said.
To make it right, every holder who applied before the deadline will keep their World Series tickets. They also get to hold on to their Timeless Ticket for another game in any future season.
"We regret our mistake and look forward to welcoming them to American Family Field for their World Series experience," Schlesinger said.
The Brewers host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 on Friday.
