Brewers erase a 4-0 hole and beat the Rays 5-4 in Game 2 to take a 2-0 World Series lead
Sal Frelick tied it with a sixth-inning homer and rookie Cooper Pratt singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh as Milwaukee won its seventh straight game.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell behind by four runs before they ever came to bat. They won anyway. Sal Frelick tied the game with a home run and rookie Cooper Pratt drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 on Saturday night in Milwaukee for a 2-0 lead in the World Series.
It was the seventh comeback win of this postseason for Milwaukee and its seventh straight victory overall. The Brewers also came back from 4-0 down to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NL Championship Series to finish a sweep.
Milwaukee is now the fifth team to twice overcome a four-run deficit to win in a single postseason and the first since the 2022 Philadelphia Phillies. Of the 57 teams that took a 2-0 lead in the World Series before this year, 46 went on to win it.
A rough first inning
Tampa Bay jumped on Brewers rookie Logan Henderson right away. Pratt made a throwing error on the first batter of the game. Chandler Simpson and Junior Caminero followed with run-scoring singles and Liam Hicks hit a two-run homer.
The Brewers answered with two runs in the bottom of the first against Rays ace Drew Rasmussen. David Hamilton made it 4-3 with a run-scoring grounder in the fourth inning that skipped under the glove of Tampa Bay first baseman Jonathan Aranda for an error.
Frelick ends a long drought
Frelick tied the game in the sixth. He fought through a nine-pitch at-bat against Ian Seymour and drove a fastball over the center-field fence. It was his first home run since July 11, a stretch of 103 plate appearances.
In the bottom of the sixth, Brewers left fielder Jackson Chourio threw out Hicks at the plate to end the inning and keep the score tied.
The rookie delivers
Brice Turang opened the seventh with a double off Tyler Wells and moved to third on a flyout. Pratt, a 22-year-old who made his big-league debut in June, then looped a single into short right field off Kevin Kelly to bring him home.
Abner Uribe pitched 1 1/3 hitless innings for the win. Aaron Ashby worked around a leadoff double in the ninth for his third save of the postseason. He has not allowed a run in the playoffs.
Fans danced to the "Beer Barrel Polka" during the seventh-inning stretch of the city's first World Series home games since 1982.
Up next
Game 3 is Monday night at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Freddy Peralta, who pitched for the Brewers from 2018 through 2025 and was named ALCS MVP, starts for Tampa Bay. Milwaukee will go with left-hander Robert Gasser.
