The Premier League club said Monday it has contacted police over a "dangerous" and "potentially very harmful" incident during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium.

"Such behaviour is dangerous and potentially very harmful," the club said in a statement.
Brentford said the matter has been referred to police. The club is helping the authorities identify those responsible and said action "may result in criminal prosecution."
It added that the safety of "fans, staff, players and officials is of utmost importance."
The match
Brentford finished the game with nine men after Yehor Yarmolyuk and Vitaly Janelt were both sent off in the second half. Alexander Isak scored a late winner as Liverpool came from behind.
