Deni Avdija scores 24 and Damian Lillard adds 22 as the Blazers bounce back by routing the Jazz 112-90
Deni Avdija had 24 points and Damian Lillard added 22 as Portland bounced back from its first loss by beating Utah 112-90 in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The Portland Trail Blazers did not let their first loss linger. Deni Avdija scored 24 points and Damian Lillard added 22 as Portland ran past the Utah Jazz 112-90 in Salt Lake City on Saturday.
Toumani Camara, Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday each scored 14 for the Blazers. Portland is now 4-1 after losing to Memphis on Thursday.
The Blazers took over early. They held Utah scoreless for nearly six minutes in the first quarter during a 17-0 run. Holiday's free throws made it 23-7 with 3:29 left in the period.
Avdija sets the tone
Avdija did his damage in the first half. He went 10 for 11 from the free throw line and had 19 points by the break as Portland led 59-42.
Utah never got close in the second half. The Blazers led by 26 in the third quarter, when their defense forced four straight turnovers during one stretch.
A rough night for Utah
Rookie Darryn Peterson led the Jazz with 16 points. Lauri Markkanen returned from two games out with a sprained wrist but scored 13 points on 3-for-14 shooting.
Keyonte George, Utah's leading scorer at 24.4 points a game, finished with eight. He and Markkanen missed their first nine shots combined.
The Jazz shot a season-low 37.1% and turned the ball over 20 times. It was the first time this season they failed to reach 103 points. It was also their fourth loss in a row.
Winning without two guards
Portland was thin in the backcourt. Ja Morant strained his hamstring against Memphis and will not be back before Thanksgiving. Shaedon Sharpe is out until the spring after knee surgery.
The Blazers still won the boards 48-37. They visit the Denver Nuggets on Monday night while the Jazz visit the San Antonio Spurs.
