Cameron Boozer posts his first triple-double as the Grizzlies rout Ja Morant's Blazers to start 5-0
Rookie Cameron Boozer had 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists as Memphis beat Portland 124-103. Ja Morant left with a hamstring injury.

Cameron Boozer filled up every column on Thursday night. The rookie forward recorded the first triple-double of his NBA career as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Portland Trail Blazers 124-103 to stay perfect at 5-0.
Boozer finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in just 28 minutes. He made 6 of 10 shots, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Memphis outscored Portland by 20 points while he was on the floor.
The No. 3 pick in the 2026 draft had struggled with his shot in his first four games. In Portland he picked his spots and kept finding open teammates.
Help from everywhere
Memphis had eight players score in double figures. Isaiah Stewart led the bench with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Cedric Coward added 17 points and three steals. Zach Edey scored 13 and GG Jackson had 12 off the bench.
The Grizzlies broke the game open late in the third quarter. A 10-0 run turned a two-point lead into an 87-75 cushion. Memphis then won the fourth quarter 33-20 as both coaches emptied their benches.
Deni Avdija led Portland with 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Damian Lillard went 3 of 13 from the field two nights after hitting the game-sealing 3-pointer against the Lakers.
A tough return for Ja Morant
The night was a homecoming of sorts for Ja Morant. He spent his first seven NBA seasons in Memphis before joining Portland this year. He scored 14 points with three assists in 23 minutes against his old team.
Morant left with 7:46 to play in the fourth quarter because of a left hamstring injury and did not return. Portland coach Micah Nori said Morant felt a twinge in the hamstring. "I'm hoping that it's nothing major, obviously," Nori said.
Morant is listed as day-to-day. The loss was Portland's first of the season after a 3-0 start.
Up next, the Blazers visit Utah on Saturday while the Grizzlies head to Sacramento the same day.
