Ashley taught herself soap making and stayed home with it
At 21, Ashley spent about $300 on thrifted pots and taught herself soap. She tells Upflip a sold-out Etsy night led to a workshop doing about $320,000 a year.

Ashley started making soap because she could not find bars without the chemicals she wanted to avoid. She was 21 and a new mom. She spent about $300 on thrifted pots.
She learned while the baby slept, gave bars to friends and stood at farmers markets with her daughter on her chest. Hauling soap plus a toddler every weekend did not last.
She posted about the work several times a day. One TikTok, she says, sold the Etsy shop out overnight. Three years on she describes a workshop, about 1,000 bars a week, a subscription of roughly 700 members and a year around $320,000, which is what let her stay home.
Markets before the workshop
The Upflip episode is about that handoff from the weekend tent to a bench she could run on a weekday. She is clear she did not arrive as a chemist.
The yearly figure is hers. The start was $300 in pots and a bar she wished already existed.
