Tyrann Mathieu spent years reading quarterbacks for a living. Nothing prepared him for a fuzzy yellow puppet named Breezy.

The former NFL safety was the first big target of the new season of Foul Play with Anthony Davis, which returned on TBS on Monday night, Nov. 2. On the show the NBA star sets up famous friends with fake situations and watches the chaos from a hidden room.

This time Mathieu thought he was showing up to film a segment for a children's TV program. Everything was going fine until the puppeteer had a full meltdown and stormed off.

Suddenly he was the puppeteer

With the crew stuck, Mathieu got asked to step in. He had to slide his hand into Breezy, give the puppet a voice and then interview himself through it. The man once nicknamed the Honey Badger looked lost.

Davis could barely contain himself behind the scenes. He laughed that his friend was drowning and that nobody could save him now.

Then it got even more awkward. The puppeteer came back and found Mathieu holding Breezy. Let's just say the reunion did not go smoothly and the room got heated fast.

A big laugh to open Season 2

Davis built the show around catching athletes and celebrities off guard. More famous friends are lined up to get the same treatment this season.

Fans online had one main takeaway from the premiere. Mathieu may be a Super Bowl champion but he should probably stay far away from kids' TV.
